Historic PRS for Music governance reform approved

The Ivors Academy is pleased that the package of PRS governance reform has been approved.

We hope that the changes will bring about increased efficiency, balance and better decision making, issues which have dogged the collecting society for a number of years.

Graham Davies, CEO of The Ivors Academy said:

“Congratulations to Nigel Elderton, Simon Darlow and Andrea C. Martin who have led the governance review over the last 18 months. The Ivors Academy supported and lobbied for the membership to adopt them. We look forward to a new chapter at PRS for Music which we hope will see closer working between PRS, The Ivors Academy and the writer community at large.”

Crispin Hunt, Chair of The Ivors Academy said:

“Congratulations to PRS members for approving long overdue governance reform at the AGM. This is the beginning of a new era for our collecting society, opening a window for meaningful change, representation and agility. Thank you to all Ivors Academy members for using your Vote. A special thanks to PRS Chairs and deputy Chairs Nigel Elderton, Simon Darlow, Simon Platz and also to Andrea C. Martin for your work on delivering this evolution. The Ivors Academy looks forward to working closely with the newly established PRS Board and Council to jointly reach out to our shared community and build a better, fairer, future for songwriters and composers.”
