Elton Jackson, Director of Artist and Employee Wellbeing at Sony Music, will join a panel exploring music in mental health this Ivors Week. The David Ferguson lecture will be livestreamed from Miloco Studios at 2pm on Tuesday 17th May. It takes place during Ivors Week, which supports The Ivors Academy Trust in their mission to support, educate and nurture the songwriters, composers and creators who need it most.

Elton is a former artist, fronting The Grid in the early 90s, ran and hosted various clubs in the UK including at the Hacienda in Manchester, then trained as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor and worked as Clinical Director of SurvivorsUK as well as running his own practice.
Elton Jackson said, “It is important to put mental health at the forefront of the music industry and it is exciting to be part of this progressive move by Sony Music, to acknowledge how the industry can better understand mental health issues and invest in improving wellbeing for both artists and employees.”
On the panel he will join songwriters Ray BLK and Jack Garratt, co-author of Can Music Make You Sick? Sally Anne Gross and counsellor specialising in the music industry Denise Devenish.
