This partnership will support Academy members in exploring new creative possibilities in sound design and composition, offering them insights into Dolby Atmos technology and the future of audio.
By expanding the Academy’s offerings in immersive audio, Dolby aims to help members fully express their creative potential and bring their compositions to life with unparalleled depth and clarity.
As part of this partnership, Dolby has launched a survey to better understand composers’ and songwriters’ familiarity with Dolby Atmos.
The survey is designed to understand members’ familiarity with Dolby Atmos, where they most commonly associate Dolby technology, and the challenges they encounter when attempting to work in this immersive format. The feedback gathered will inform future educational initiatives and support provided by the Academy and Dolby to address members’ needs effectively.
Roberto Neri, CEO of The Ivors Academy said “Partnering with Dolby represents an exciting step for The Ivors Academy as we continue to empower our members to excel in their craft. Dolby Atmos opens up a new dimension for composers to fully immerse listeners in their music, allowing for richer and more captivating experiences.”
Jane Gillard, Dolby, Head of Music Partnerships, Europe said “We are delighted to be partnering with The Ivors Academy. Our organisations share a commitment to innovation and excellence in music, songwriting and audio. The Ivors Academy provides a fantastic platform for recognising, supporting and celebrating talent. Together, we can foster new collaborations, elevate the creative possibilities for songwriters and inspire the next generation of creators.”
