Music is said to enhance intelligence and focus, improve mental health, and boost the immune system as well as self-esteem and confidence. It can be used to relax, boost and lift our mood, or to improve concentration.
BUT — research has shown that people working in the music industry and music creators are more prone to mental health problems than the general population with musicians being up to three times more likely to suffer from depression. An interesting paradox, which we will explore in this panel discussion.
