This prestigious event celebrates the finest achievements in contemporary classical composing and sound arts, providing an evening to celebrate, and be inspired by, our leading composing talents
After last year’s sold-out event with over 400 guests, we’re excited to welcome back composers, sound artists and arts professionals for another unforgettable evening. This year’s ceremony will provide a unique opportunity to network with influential figures from the music industry and cultural sector, meet fellow composers and celebrate the most outstanding compositions.

Hosted by BBC Radio 3’s Kate Molleson and Tom Service, the night will begin with welcome drinks, followed by an awards ceremony recognizing exceptional talent in classical composing and sound arts. A reception with winners, nominees and key industry representatives concludes the evening.
Each winner receives a coveted Ivor Novello Award, judged by renowned composers from The Ivors Academy. Last year’s recipients were Thomas Adès, Tansy Davies, Brett Dean, Matthew Herbert, Brian Irvine, Hannah Kendall, Olivia Louvel, Ben Nobuto, John Rutter, Josephine Stephenson and Dobrinka Tabakova.
We are proud that PRS for Music is supporting this year’s event, which is in association with BBC Radio 3, ensuring the event reaches a wider audience and continues to elevate the significance of contemporary classical music.
Highlights from the ceremony and music by the winning composers will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s New Music Show on Saturday 16th November at 10:30pm and on BBC Sounds.
