In a move to welcome and support more songwriters and composers at all stages of their careers, standard members no longer need to be a member of a Performing Rights Organisation, such as PRS for Music, to be eligible to join The Ivors Academy.
We strongly recommend that all music creators register with a PRO, but want to encourage everyone who is, or on their path to, becoming a professional writer to join.
The Academy’s Board approved this change and agreed to rename Academy-tier membership as Professional. The criteria to become a Professional member stays the same.
