BBC Radio 3’s Hannah Peel and Tom Service will host the awards ceremony on Tuesday 15th November where twelve Ivor Novello Awards will be bestowed to celebrate the best new music by classical, jazz and sound art composers.
The ceremony will close with the presentation of an Academy Fellowship in recognition of excellence and impact in the art and craft of music creation.
We’re also delighted to announce three new award category partners for 2022.
ABRSM are supporting our Community and Participation Award which celebrates newly composed music for voluntary, amateur or youth performers and/or community engagement. The five nominated pieces will be announced on Tuesday 18th October.
The Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Works Collection, which recognises an exceptional classical composer whose music demonstrates the highest degree of skill, impact and originality, is presented in association with the Music Publishers Association.
The Ivor for Innovation, which acknowledges an innovative composer and musician whose creative practice inspires and influences successive generations, is presented in association with Musicians’ Union.

The Ivors Composer Awards are sponsored by PRS for Music. The awards presentation is in association with BBC Radio 3 providing exclusive broadcast coverage on the New Music Show on Saturday 19th November from 10pm, which will be available on BBC Sounds.
The nominees will be announced on Tuesday 18th October.
