“Welcome to BASCA’s twenty-second Gold Badge Awards luncheon. As most of you will know, we give these awards to a wide variety of special people who have contributed their skills and talents to the music industry in general and to composers in particular. As ever, this year we honour a wonderful group of individuals from all branches of the industry both in front and behind the scenes. The thing that unites them is that every single one of them has, in his or her own way, enriched the lives of music lovers everywhere. For this we thank them all and ask them to accept a small gold emblem and our applause.”
