Our team is thrilled to be in Brighton this week, participating in multiple events and connecting with fellow songwriters and composers. Here’s what we have in store:
Council of Music Makers: A Day of Talks, Discussions, Case Studies, and Insights
Don’t miss this full-day event at the Leonardo Hotel on Thursday, May 16th.
Our CEO, Roberto Neri, will speak at 10am on “The Manifesto of the Music Makers,” alongside the leaders of the organisations who comprise the Council of Music Makers (The Ivors Academy, FAC, MMF, MPG and the MU). They’ll discuss the latest campaigns, from negotiations with the government on creator remuneration, to ensuring music makers have control over their work in the age of AI.
At 11:30am, Ivors Academy Chair Tom Gray will be interviewed by YolanDa Brown OBE, Chair of the BPI, covering the industry’s role in protecting music copyright and culture.
At 12:30pm, our own Charlie Phillips will moderate a panel exploring the pressing issues facing creators, including how credits can help music makers get the recognition they deserve and secure future work.
Please note that this event is for delegates only. Find full details.
