Michelle Escoffery has been confirmed as the next Chair of The Ivors Academy Trust, an independent charity that helps songwriters and composers overcome barriers – particularly those that are less advantaged – after being voted in by her fellow Trustees.
The Ivors Academy Trust is in a phase of growth and development, with ambitious plans to support more songwriters and composers than ever before in the lead up to its 25th Anniversary in 2025.
Since joining the board as Trustee in 2023, Michelle has brought her passion for advocating for music creators to the forefront of her role at the Trust.
Michelle Escoffery has an impressive career in the music industry spanning over three decades. She has been honoured with prestigious accolades such as the Ivor Novello Award and Brit Award, which stand as testament to her creative talent and professional contributions.
She is currently making history as the first President of PRS for Music Member’s Council, where she represents and advocates for her fellow music creators. Additionally she is a proud Trustee of the PRS Foundation and sits on the Industry Advisory Board for Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), demonstrating her unwavering commitment to supporting and energising the wider music community.
Michelle shares her practical wealth of knowledge on commercial songwriting at highly regarded institutes such as Westminster University, BIMM, University of West London, Tileyard Education and others. Her passion for nurturing future talent is evident, as she co-owns boutique production company, 528 Music Global, where she dedicates time and expertise to Artist and Songwriter development.
Michelle’s musical capabilities, love of people and executive sharpness have garnered her recognition as an esteemed educator, songwriter, champion of music creators and ultimately a true visionary in the industry.
