  • Anthony Newley
  • Denis O’Keeffe

Guy Fletcher, Chairman of the British Academy of Composers, Songwriters and Authors, says:

Firstly, may I welcome you to the 18th BASCA GOLD BADGE OF MERIT AWARDS and thank you for joining us in paying tribute to this year’s distinguished roll of honored guests.

Since BASCA inaugurated these unique awards in 1974 there have been only 219 recipients. The list comprises writers, performers, musicians, producers, publishers, impresarios, in fact, people from every corner of the music business. Every single one of them has made a special and lasting contribution to our industry and helped to bring the joy of music to millions of people.

To those who are about to receive the 1992 awards we say thank you and welcome to this small group of remarkable friends.”
