Liang Lawrence had lived in eight different countries by the time she was 18 but, luckily, glorious indie pop songwriting is an international language. And Lawrence is certainly fluent; crafting songs that, in her own words, “tell stories in a way they haven’t been told before”. Hence, brilliant tunes such as Eulogy and Kiss My Apocalypse, that have been favourably compared to Phoebe Bridgers and drawn support from BBC Radio 1.
