Per diem payments made by Universal Music UK, Sony Music UK, and Warner Music UK are not recoupable from featured artists (i.e. artists signed to these labels under an exclusive recording contract). This means that the costs will not be deducted from future royalties.
Independent labels may apply different terms. Songwriters should ask their independent label contacts if any payment or expense support will be recoupable, and request written confirmation.
