Darren Korb in conversation

Darren Korb is an award-winning composer and musician behind the hit scores for video games Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, Hades and Hades II.

Ahead of his sold-out Royal Festival Hall concert ‘Ballads of the Underworld’ taking place at this year’s Game Music Festival on 27 June, Darren will explore the tremendous musical journey and vocal masterpieces that bring the perilous Greek mythology-inspired adventures of protagonists Zagreus and Melinoë to life.

As Audio Director at Supergiant Games, Darren provides all of the audio in their games, from the thousands of sound effects to the memorable scores performed in a variety of genre-bending styles. Darren also directs all of the voiceover for the games at Supergiant, in addition to voicing some characters himself.

Darren's original scores have received dozens of industry accolades, nominations and awards, including the Spike VGA Award for Best Original Score (Bastion, 2011) and the SXSW Award for Excellence in Musical Score (Transistor, 2014).
