We aim to foster a sense of community among songwriters, lyricists and composers and encourage the next generation of professional music writers. One of our main pillars of activity is cultivating creative talent.
Our Youth Network builds close ties between The Ivors Academy, emerging songwriters and creators, and the best of music educational institutions across the country, to create mutually rewarding collaborations, to engage with and celebrate the future generation of music creators, and support them as they begin their careers.
Individuals aged under 25 can become part of the Youth Network themselves for free. There are also two levels of involvement for academic institutions: joining as an Affiliate is free of charge, or you can become a Partner by making a financial contribution. Find out more below about all the ways to get involved.
If you’re a young songwriter or composer, you can become part of The Ivors Academy Youth Network, which will give you:
featuring events, opportunities, offers, discounts and more that are relevant to young creators
which meets each term to ensure the issues that young creators care about are heard and acted on. You'll need to become an Under 25 member of The Ivors Academy to join the Youth Council.
All Youth Council members will all be eligible to stand to be a full Board Member of The Ivors Academy (one vacancy available for a Youth Council member)
